ClassYourFreight started as a way to answer one recurring question at the dock: given a weight and a set of dimensions, what freight class should go on the bill of lading. The Freight Class Calculator and the Density Calculator both apply the same density-to-class breakpoints published under the NMFC standard, so a shipment classes the same way through either tool.
Nothing you type into either calculator leaves your browser. There's no account, no saved history, and no server round trip, the math runs client-side and the page never sees your shipment details.
The output is a starting number, not a guarantee. Carriers can inspect, remeasure, and reclassify a shipment at pickup or delivery, and specific NMFC item numbers override a density-based estimate when one applies.
